我国中档酒店于2012年前后兴起。但该档次酒店的定位一直以来都没有明确标准，一般来说，多数业者认为准三至准四的酒店都可归为中档;也有按照房价来划分的;也有按照房价与客房装修成本来划分的。
经过近3年的发展，中档酒店在体量大小、区位选择、定价策略、运营模式、商业模式等问题上都摸索出了一定方法，业态逐渐饱满，趋于良性成长。
中档酒店有着与经济型完全不同的目标客群、设计需求、盈利模式，一般都位于繁华的商业中心或次商业中心，价格上比经济型要高，比高档要低。此外一般都拥有除客房的第二空间，如健身房、书吧、咖啡厅等社交区域，并有着比经济型酒店要优质的服务质量。
2012年前，中档连锁份额极小，品牌池浅，高端与经济性之间有着明显断层。而今，经过3年发展，诸多国内外酒店集团于中档领域发力，品牌林立，连锁化进程也随之开始。单体三、四星级酒店生存空间不断被压缩。

The hotel was great. Clean, well serviced, and well situated. The staff were also very friendly and could speak some English. Although this is the Garland Hotel, we had full facilities of the main hotel as well. The only disappointing thing was the clear window between the bathroom and the bedroom. There was a screen that could be pulled down, but this still left a gap that those in the bedroom were able to see through. The screen was on the bedroom side as well. It would have been better fitted on the bathroom side of the wall.

还方便。就在趵突泉旁边，打的也方便。出差住住不错。靠近泉城广场。周边吃饭的地方也不少。总体来说还可以吧。
